Please reply
Hello…. is this a 2 month plan??
thanks for the website wordpandit but can you please tell me the books which i shall refer to improve my english
Hi Wordpandit,
Appreciate your efforts to help CAT aspirants. I just have a query, almost 70% of Verbal section is on RC but your plan includes more of Vocab related stuff, wanted to know why so?
Hey Prakhar. Thanks a lot.
In fact, we do have a dedicated RC section: http://bit.ly/2bQDxPS
Since we are re-doing the section level-wise, we have not added those links to the prep plan. Those links will be updated next week and you will soon have RC links here.
Also, the reading suggestions are actually from the perspective of RCs only. We strongly believe reading to the be cure for all RC related issues and that is why we have so many recommendations put up for the same.
Yes Aditi, you will be able to complete everything by October. We will release the full prep plan by October-31.
Hi wordpandit I make a lot of mistakes in correct the sentence grammatically.. How should I go about it??
Hey Diksha
Start with basic grammar. Refer to these two books:
1. Better English by Norman Lewis
2. High School Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin.
The second book is tough to go through, so use it in conjunction with the first. Wren and Martin is a school level textbook with a lot of details. It can be tough to consume. So what you should do is study the topics from Better English and when you encounter a new grammar term, you should use Wren and Martin as a reference source.
Also, go through our grammar blogs and tests. These will help you out as well.
Great pains have been taken.
Much pains has been taken.
can you explain the agreement of verb here… why has in one and have in another ?
The first sentence follows the standard rule. The plural noun ‘pains’ takes the plural verb.
The second sentence is an exception.
Remember, With fractions, percentages and indefinite quantifiers (e.g., all, few, many, much, some), the verb will be decided on the basis on the preceding noun. With singular nouns or uncountable nouns (pains is uncountable here), the verb is singular in nature.
Therefore, it is: much pains has been and not much pains have been.
Remember, this is an exception.
Totally irrelevant to CAT, but can you please change the font color of this website ? Or make it a little dark green? It would be a little easy on my eyes :p Thank you.
Hi Sajida, we are hearing this for the first time. Not sure when can we do this but we will try out a few combinations..:)
Hi I saw this site today itself and prepared only some topics of Quant before for CAT 2016 but not very nicely . I face difficulties in Quant section. If I complete 2 preparation plans a day will I complete everything by October ?
Hi Wordpandit, I only need to improve my reading skills and LR-DI. pretty much comfortable with my quant preparation plan using books. So excluding Quant practice from daily plans a good idea or i need to cover that too? Also, should i poarctice RC in parallel with article reading practice or wait for 1-2 week to have a essence of reading.
Hey Shivam, we put up a post for LR-DI prep. Refer to it here: http://bit.ly/2bNUTRf
As far as reading and RCs go, you need to take up both side by side. No other way out.
if we go with this plan then till what date will entire syllabus be covered ?
Hey Abhishek, the syllabus will be done by October end but you need to be regular with your studies.
WHAT IS THE KEY TO SOLVE RC QUESTIONS?
Hey Sandeep
There are multiple factors to solve RCs.
Go through our RC basics page and some blogs on RCs (in the blog section).
These will give you vital insights for RCs.
Hello, Wordpandit. I started following your Test preparation plan only yesterday i.e. July 29. How should I proceed in order to catch up with the schedule and finish it on time before CAT 2016 exam?
Hey, we have just begin posting Month-2 of the plan.
To begin with you should cover 2 Prep plan pages per day.
Once you catch with the plan, then you can reduce it to one prep plan page a day. This way, by October end, you should be able to finish the bulk of the content we provide.
Hi sir
I am done with the entire theory of number system but still can’t solve many questions for CAT. why is this happening? I can solve the questions on the theory like Unit, last two digits, remainders, Number of factors, sum of factors, almost every question in HCF & LCM, But still there are many questions from LEVEL 1..2..&3 in SK verma book which i am not at all able to solve. Help me out please.?
Hey Suraj
It seems that you need to revise the theory for Number System. You can use the book Koncepts for Numbers by Gajendra Kumar. This will help you clarify the basic concepts and provide you much better understanding of the topic. Also, at times, it is about clearing small conceptual doubts which might be coming in your way and stopping you from achieving perfect scores. It is a must to identify these areas and work on these.
Hi sir actually im preparing for CAT 2016…This 1 month plan is starting from which month .Like if we start in July then is it feasible or have to increase the speed

The same problem persists with “Basics of Factors” as well.

At that particular moment the links were not working. But everything is doing fine now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are an aspirant for CAT-2016 let us know, we can help you with the plan.
If you have any suggestions for us, do not hesitate to post.
Thank you for writing!
Hi Prashant, I am really impressed by your dedication towards making us learn. I want to ask what this 30 days plan is? Do you update it on daily basis or this is the first month and I can infer that 3 Distinct month plans are yet to be updated ?
Hey Arman, we will be adding the month-2 to month-4 from July end to October.
Roughly, by October 31, we will have all the prep plan pages up.
respected sir i m bank po aspirants pls help me in english section pls..
Hey Priyansi, we will be launching our Bank PO section very soon (probably by August-15). Kindly visit around that time.
can I completely rely on this website for a full preparation?
Hey, we are doing the best we can. With the right amount of effort and hard work, coupled with our prep resources, you should do well..:)
Why should we read such old artickes of 2013 in 2016 for Basic reads. You are fooling all of us by weiting 2016 prep and using tools of 2012-13
Hey Smita
That was such an unfair comment. Fooling all of you? That is really harsh.
Let me explain the concept a little here. I don’t think any ‘reading material’ is out of date. Reading practice is the key, right? The purpose of sharing these links was exactly the same. We tried our best to keep them time irrelevant. Anyways, criticism is welcome. We always can improve our existing content. But I would strongly appreciate the service we are providing at absolutely no cost.

I am sorry. I did not mean it and so I deleted the last comment. I really like how you have given Visual flash cards but was following your daily reads and saw that they are really old. I totally get that ni readjng material is out of date but it wojld be wonderful if you can provide us the recent ones. Would help us in GD/PI too. i know analysing all newspapers would take so much time. But we can have like you posting 21st suggested reads on 23rd si it woukd be all the more helpful. Plus, I also appreciate how you are helping us free of cost.
Thanks and sorry
Hi Smita
You absolutely don’t need to delete any comment. We have an open forum and you are free to post your comments. In fact, a lot of students have asked for fresh daily reads but then again, it is next to impossible to provide analysis as well article links on a daily basis. Your points are valid but our limitations are there. We are going to re-invent the section (build it in a format where in it can be updated easily). So thanks for making me think along those lines.
And my all grievance with the previous comment was the strong language. Anyways, you are welcome to post feedback in future..:)
which books should i refer for strengthening quant and data interpretation.i am already doing arun sharma’s quant book and bulls eye coaching material, still i feel lack of preparation!! what to do?
Hi to all. This is Wordpandit. You can post your doubts regarding this plan on this thread. Let’s keep this discussion active and robust. I am here to assist you with your queries with respect to CAT-2016 prep..:)
If i follow this plan rigorously, do you think i’ll be able to get more than 90% percentile ? i mean, will it be enough to get that score ?
Absolutely Nirbhay. We have taken care to include everything possible in the prep plan..:)
Alright , thank you very much , ^_^
Hi,
this plan is too good. But I am wrkng, so I am not getting time to follow the entire plan for aday. so, please do let me know how can I prepare??
And am facing difficulty in vocabulary, please help me with that.
Hi. In this case, it is best you focus on specific areas that you need to prepare for. You can skip the parts which you are good in. For Vocabulary, I believe our visual vocabulary section should work best for you..:)
Hi,
This is a great platform to help us align with the lessons. Can you help me analyse the way i should cover my syllabus and using which material.
Hey Naina, sure we can do that..:)
This is what every CAT aspirant needed. Thank you!
Firstly, my area of worry is quant and DI and specifically calculations. My mind’s processing speed is quite low..:D I know solution to this problem is practice. So what would you recommend me to increase this processing speed of mine?
Secondly, looking at the level of questions of LR and DI section of CAT – 2015, where i will get such good questions for practice?
Hey Heenal, thanks a lot! Couple of things for calculations:
a. research some speed maths books and material
b. study vedic maths
c. strengthen arithmetic
For LR-DI, the best resource (*by a long stretch) is previous year Mocks and previous year CAT papers. Make sure you solve these.
Thank you! 🙂
Will you upload online mock tests?. .. because as u know mocks are really important for cat prepration.
Hey Mayank, we won’t uploading mock tests but we will be introducing times tests this year. We know mocks are important but there are already a number of good options for mocks avl.; we will be recommending which mocks to take.
please let us know which mocks would be helpful!!!
You can take Bulls Eye, Oliveboard or Time mocks. These should provide you the apt practice you need for the exam..:)
What about Testfunda ?
Hi Rushabh. I have not followed their mocks over the last couple of years. Previously, they were good.
thanks a lot … i am following your plan ….
please upload the remaining plan ….and also please suggest the time …. when we should start mocks and I am following arun verma’s books quants , verbal, dI… is this enough or I need more books
You should take at least 2 mocks each in June and July; from August, you can take at least 4 mocks each month. Generally maintain a regular schedule and track your performance. Do you mean Arun Sharma?
yes * arurn sharma
This blog is really awesome..found it worth fetching..soo happiie for u kuddos..
Can u please refer me the best material to practise Quantitative Aptitude, DI & LR sections
Hi Jayanthi. Thanks a lot..:) Can you share some preparation details of yours? Which books and material are you currently using?
Currently am following R S Agarwal for Quant and Official guide for GMAT for Verbal ability
I believe you will need to take up a few more resources for your prep. Refer to this link for some more information about how to start your preparation: http://bit.ly/cat-2016-prep
For starters, you can refer to these books for maths:
1. Quantum CAT (Sarvesh Verma, Arihant)
2. Koncpets of Numbers by Gajendra Kumar (for number system)
3. Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation by Nishit Sinha
These should be a good starting point for your prep..:)
I was waiting for this cat prep plan for so long. Thank you so much.
Ah, the wait if finally over Gursheen. Welcome to the plan..:)
Will the plan be uploaded daily?
Hi Dkisharth. We will be updating mostly two times a week. We will add pages for a week in one go…:)
OK. Thanks a lot. Is any other material you may suggest to me for CAT 2016?
What specifically are you looking for? Which section of the exam do you want specific help? Let me the details of your prep and approach and I can guide you a better…:)
Actually I’ve started preparing and have no such knowledge of preparing for CAT. By going through your plan, I found myself weak in English.
Ok. First thing you need to understand is the basic skills required by the section. You need a combination of reading, grammar, vocabulary and reasoning skills. Each one of these can be mastered with a targeted approach. Refer to this article: http://bit.ly/cat-verbal-ability
I have outlined a few points that need to kept in mind while planning your Verbal preparation.
Had a coaching series,2 set of Prep books and lot of newspaper cuttings with me.
But only when I gone through the daily plan,There was HOPE!! Thankyou
You are most welcome Shashank. Hope your prep is headed in the right direction..:)
Never found a practice plan like this KUDOS folks!!
Thanks a lot Varsha
Thanks for your Time and Effort Prashant Kudos !.
Thanks a lot Satya
did u provide test with timers?
Not as of now Smriti but we will be adding this feature soon
