Pathetic & Prophetic

Pathetic means arousing or capable of arousing sympathetic feelings of sadness and compassion:”The condition of the people of the flood hit area was very pathetic as many of them were seen starving and suffering from different diseases.”

Prophetic on the other hand, means foretelling events as if by divine inspiration: “The warning of the soothsayer that Ides of March was dangerous for Caesar’s life proved prophetic.”
