Overate & Overrate

Overate means to eat to excess, especially when habitual: “The child overate at the party and began vomiting after an hour.”

Overrate , on the other hand, means to overestimate the merits of; to rate too highly: “The movie was simply overrated; it had quite a weak plot and the actors also did not do much justice to their roles.”
