Meet & Mete

Meet means to come together in order to talk about or to discuss something: “The party workers decided to meet in order to decide their agenda of the following year.”
Mete , on the other hand, means to give something to the people who are considered worthy of receiving it; to allot, distribute, or apportion: “The government has decided to mete out rewards for able police and army men.”
