Lade & Laid

Lade means to place on or to load for shipment: “Spring has arrived . It will lade the plants with flowers and fruits.”
Laid , on the other hand, has the following meanings:-
1. Placed or deposited: “The enemy had laid bombs near the border which were fortunately detected by our soldiers.”
2. Having made bets or gambled: “I won the bet as the Indian cricket team on which I had laid won the world championship.”
3. Prepared or made ready: “The table has been laid. Please come for breakfast.”
4. A situation presented for review and judgment: “The public prosecutor laid the fact before the high court judge so convincingly that the latter rejected the bail of the culprit.”
