Knot, Naught & Not

Knot has the following meanings:-
1. A bond between individuals usually as part of a ceremony: “They tied the marriage knot last summer.”
2. The measurement of a ship’s speed: “The ship moved at a good speed of two knots per hour because the wind was favorable.”
3. To tie up or to secure by using a flexible cord: “Knot your shoelaces lest you should fall.”
Nought, on the other hand, has the following meanings:-
1. The digit 0; zero:” A thousand is written with three noughts.”
2. Nothing: “The judge gave nought out of ten for his
shabby performance.”
3.Worthless,useless:”All our efforts to appease Pakistan have come to nought.”
