Inert, Insert & Inset

Inert has the following meanings:-
1. Very slow, sluggish, lacking the ability to move:”We can find many old men lying inert in public parks doing nothing.”
2. Not having the anticipated reaction either chemically or biologically: “This gas is inert ; it will not harm.”
Insert has the following meanings:-
1. To put or to incorporate anything into the body of something else: “Insert your ATM card to get cash.”
2. That which is included within the body of something else: “The Tribune carries a four page insert on ‘Real Estate’ every Thursday.”
Inset means a small representation or part which is incorporated into the larger body of an item: “The inset of the murderers on the TV screen will prove helpful in arresting them.”
