Hew & Hue

Hew means to chop or to cut by using a cutting instrument: such as, an axe: “The sculptor was hewing a rock into the shape of a woman.”
Hue , on the other hand, means a gradient of color that helps to classify individual colors: “A pale hue spread on the patient’s face due to jaundice.”
