Difference Between Bogey and BogyBogey is a golfing term. It means one stroke over par in a game of golf: “Tiger Woods claimed a bogey over his closest competition.”
Bogy, bogey, bogie, on the other hand, refer to a goblin; an evil spirit: “The children huddled in their beds after listening to stories about a bogy.”

Remember: Bogey can be sued for both the meanings but Bogy/bogie carry only one meaning.
