If the current population of panthers is 29160 and the ratio of the decrease in population for the first and second year and second and third year be 10 : 9, what was the population of panthers 3 years ago?

Answer: 3

Solution: The ratio of decrease of population for the first, second and third year is 10:9 and the current population is 29160. So, the population 3 years back = 29160 x (10/9) x (10/9) x (10/9) = 40000
