Omission means left undone or neglected: “A government employee is always held responsible for his omissions and commissions .”
Oversight , on the other hand, has the following meanings:-
1. Responsible care: “She has always maintained an oversight of her children and never let them go astray.”
2. An accidental error: “He did a great job except for a few oversights.”
