Difference between Decry and DescryDecry means ‘to speak out strongly against, to disapprove publicly and emphatically, to belittle or disparage it’. For example: “The government decried Anna Hazare’s campaign as an attempt to gain popularity.”
Descry means ‘to see, to catch sight of, to discover or discern’. For example: “Through the fog we could vaguely descry the distant turn in the road.”
