Condemn means to express strong disapproval of: “Corruption is high places is condemned by all.”
It also means to judge or to declare to be unfit for use or consumption, usually by an official order: “The old building was condemned as it was in a terrible shape.”
Contemn means to view with contempt; to despise: “Having been wronged in life does not give one a license to contemn anybody. “
